God, gods, Humans
Un-created God, (the original Beginningless beginning)
Created gods
Created humans (part mortal, part immortal)
Humans do not normally have self-will. This must be developed.
Humans are separated from God because of their lack of knowledge of truth. "Ignorance of God is the greatest evil in men." (Hermetica)
Truth being that everything exists at one time, simultaneously, there are no opposites, there is no separation.
Opposites, duality and separation are only part of the material cosmos which is illusory in its appearance of permanency and totality of things in existence.
Gods are immortal humans, humans are mortal gods, (Hermetica). This means that gods live forever while humans are temporary. If a human properly cultivates himself, the mortal part, i.e. the body, will die and the immortal part shall continue to exist consciously.
The difference between gods and humans is that gods are purely immortal while humans are part mortal and part immortal. This makes humans unique in the realm of all things that we are the only beings that are made of both material and spiritual realms, giving humans the opportunity to experience the material realm and thereby giving the experience to the part of them that is the One Original God, whereas the gods are limited to experiencing immortality alone. For this reason, humans are the closest of all things in creation to God.
We must be conscious that there are no opposites and that everything is one part of the Supreme God, just like fingers, legs, arms, are part of one body and so although separate in their function, are not separate in their connection from the whole, if you cut off a finger, it would cease to exist as a finger and would simply be a lump of flesh and bone, but would have no life. And so everything in existence is part of the body of that one God since nothing could exist if it where not created and maintained a connection to a life force. The one God is what created everything by virtue of having created one thing which created another and so on down the line.
If we take the many steps of creation from the one God to its first offspring and then to its offspring and so on down the line, we will eventually come to the human. So since each step on the ladder of creation is dependent on the step above it as the source of the continued existence of its species, everything in existence, material and nonmaterial, is part of one being, as it is part of one ladder.
Each material thing is directly dependent on the step above it which directly created it, if not for its continued life, at least with gratitude for having been brought into existence. This is where the biblical phrase, "Honor thy mother and thy father" has validity in a teaching of higher realms. Honor them, but proceed on your own path to find the original source, but keep honoring them even though they no longer provide you with life, you still must remember that what you do have, as independent as you are, is due to their initial step in creating you.
For each species or thing in existence, there is a god that oversees its initial creation and its continuation. This means that there is a god for humans, a god for a particular type of tree, each species of animal, and so on. So when anything is taken or used for any reason, a prayer of gratitude is made to the god that has as its domain, the duty of having created and tending to that species.
So the human parents are honored for the body they provided, and the gods are revered for providing the material cosmos that could create these bodies. Then the higher realms of gods are revered for having brought into existence the gods that created the material realms, and so on.
This may seem very complex, but it really is easy since you only have to take it one step at a time. You have been prepared to do this by the exercise I gave you long ago about seeing a forest, pick a tree. Then pick a branch, then a leaf, then a vein in the leaf. Then follow the vein through the leaf, into the branch, to the tree, to the roots, to the earth, and see the entire planet that feeds the tiny vein in the leaf. Then think about the leaf which is the source of food for the bug that lives on it, which is eaten by a bigger bug, and so on.
What separates humans from that consciousness and realization is ignorance of God, and truth. That ignorance is the great evil, the truly greatest sin, along with anger and all negative emotions because that is what blinds us from the truth. So you see, the concept of sin is not limited to evil acts, but encompasses lack of action as well. This sin is so great because it is not simply a sin to another, it is a sin to our Self, to God, by not seeing what we really are and thereby not giving the fullest opportunity of the magnificent uniqueness of our being, part mortal part immortal, to fulfill its purpose.
In order not to be blinded by anger, we need self will, control over ourselves, which does not mean to contain anger so that we do not feel it or choke our emotional selves, but not to get manipulated and lost by unnecessary and lesser ego created negative emotions which is not limited to anger but includes jealously, greed, the seven deadly sins, and so. To no longer be manipulated by these negative emotions which are self destructive, we need self-will.
To have self-will and self discipline, to develop it, you must go against certain things that the ego desires so that you can develop this will. That is what the exercises and meditations are for, as well as the practices of restricted diet, reduced sleep, denying comforts to any degree when there is a choice.
Will power is to do what you do not want to do, and not to do what you want to do. Doing this builds will power.
Seen in reverse:
Develop self-will and awareness of how our anger and negative emotions are so destructive to us, we reduce these negative emotions, as well as self restrictions of desires, as the Sufis say; Eat little, sleep little, speak little;
As that happens our heart becomes clean and clear;
As that happens we get experiences and visions of truth and reality, the unity of all things and beings;
Next we attain the consciousness of our immortality, and then we progress on the evolutionary level of the different gods until we achieve unity with the one god.
There is much to learn about the details of how the cosmos came into being and how it functions. However, this information will be much more useful if the little mind is open and clear of negative and illusionary thought so the Greater Mind can enter. Keep working on eliminating all negative destructive thoughts, habits and manners.
Here is a little summary
The One God created the many gods.
The many gods created the material Universe
A God created humans and made them part mortal and part immortal
The many gods serve the humans by creating the material universe for their benefit.
Humans serve the many gods by reverence.
Humans pay reverence to the many gods by taking care of the material world with remembrance of the gods that created it to give them pleasure and the experience of mortal and immortal.
Humans pay reverence to the many gods also because the One God created them that they should do so.
