Nietzsche, it's good to lose

Nietzsche wrote much against the quest for happiness as the ultimate goal. Today we are obsessed with happiness, with being on valium for as long as possible.

Some of what he writes is:

The superior man "exploits bad accidents to his advantage; what does not kill him makes him stronger."

"The poison of which weaker natures perish strengthens the strong -- nor do they call it poison."

Many people suffer financial or emotional losses in their life, some devastating. Most people can survive one or maybe two such losses, but at the third, if that happens, they will give up. That could be drugs, alcohol or suicide, but for sure, major depression. It's just too much to bear for a normal human.

But we are only 'normal' if we accept that is all we are. In fact, as you have read in many of my other writings, the evidence is overwhelming from so many traditions that we are far more than just human. As such, the events of the human life cannot effect us, unless we are so tied to being human and think this world and this life is everything we are.

I have lost the majority of my fortune 13 times, I have now rebuilt 14 times. What is most interesting is not that I can rebound and continue to rebuild, but that each time, I soon have more than I had before the loss.

How is this possible? Have you ever heard of anyone who can sustain and continue to move forward after so many setbacks that take 70% or 95% of ones assets? It is very simple, I have always objectively observed and studied what went wrong, where I made the mistakes, and then started over as if new, but with greater knowledge.

Additionally, and most importantly, I know I am going to die, and whenever that is, I will go with, 'empty pockets', so why care about what happens now? I care only because what happens now, meaning in this life, can, if I choose to use the events this way, build something far more valuable than a trillion dollar empire, I am building my character.

No matter what you have, it can be taken from you, but your mind is entirely yours to posses or give away, no one can take your mind from you. And as I have said, and entitled my course, All Is Mind.

There is a Sufi story that basically says; "Do not seek happiness, do not strive to avoid sadness, rather, seek Truth."

That is all I have ever cared about. The only difference between you and I is that I knew that is what I want, and you want it as well, but are looking in the wrong places.

Think about it, in every relationship, business deal, everything, isn't what you ultimately want the most to know the truth of what the other person is thinking or is going on?

Everyone has at some time wished they could read minds.

Seek truth, and make yourself stronger, when in any bad situation, remind yourself that this is just another phase of life, that everything goes up and down, comes and goes, grows and diminishes, but through all that, you are going to die one day, and then, guaranteed, everything in this world will be left behind.

Use all disasters to your advantage and then, you will never experience anything other than good and beneficial situations.
